Little done today. But as a requirement i must do at least one tree per day.

Electric: Done (Naming of nukes isn't prefect)
Fire: Done
Magic: Not Done
Water: Done

I decided since things are progressing slow i should ask around for ideas on what to do next on the Ren'Py forums, such a nice bunch over there :)

I finished the Electric tree (nice!) and i still felt i was up for more. Fire is next and then Magic. Basically i think i've finished the hardest 3 (Electric, Air and Water) these 3 are hardest because there's only so much you can do with air (you've got sound, high pressured cutting air, strong currents of air(wind) and spreading toxins or poison in it, heating it up or removing oxygen, all pretty generic right?)

Exactly same deal with water, i decided to use Ice, Water and Blood. then with electricity.. .well. Electricity is exactly nothing but energy. It's only visible form really is lightning. The only thing you can do with it is electrocute people. So i needed to think up different names for that, with time spells i used currents (DC, Pulsing and AC) that is, static current which deals samey damage the entire time. Pulsing which is a combination of DC + AC, that is it's an AC current that goes into + but not into - (always on with varying voltage instead of off and on) then there's AC which goes all the way up to maximum + then drops into -, then goes back up to it's maximum +, making it on/off/on/off/on/off(and so on)

I decided that it's probably more of a pain (literally) to be electrocuted once per second, than to be constantly electrocuted with varying amounts of voltage (Pulse). Partially because of the mental effect, the dread of knowing that you'll be electrocuted again in a second is agonizing and you'd instinctively do anything you possibly could to stop it.

When it comes to fire i don't even need to be creative since fire is literally little else than a tool for destruction. When it comes to magic i can just make it into any form of energy i'd want it to be (i'm calling it raw mana) and name it "energy" so... "Energy *****" and "Mana *****" and "Magic *****" are going to be the naming schemes.

Just look at how close i am to the finish line on the destruction magic tree *^* and now all i have left is... all the other magic trees :(

like i said, i'll want to balance the quantity of spells between willpower and int based magic rather than individual schools. so Conjuration, Alteration and Illusion spells will probably be few per level.

There was something i was thinking... Replacing the shapeshifting tree with something else. But what the fuck was it D: something needed that i hadn't placed in the game. Hmm. What was it (see? i write everything down in this blog to avoid things like this happening. But this particular thing i thought of while in bed so i had nothing to write with!)

Well, now that i think of it i could use something else than shapeshifting... OH i remember it had to do with enchanting. Hmm. Ah yes, now i remember, i've got nothing on the willpower side of magic to use in combination with melee combat, like the conjured weapons. And enchanting should be linked to magic so it's kind of silly if i've got enchanting as a skill but not as a magic tree. So, i'll replace the shapeshifting magic tree with enchanting magic.  The spells you learn will be ones that can be temporarily applied to objects, or infused into crystals (or something like that) and embedded permanently into items with the enchanting skill.

As for trees... lets see.

Offensive (damage bonuses)
Defensive (defense bonuses)
Magic (spellcaster bonuses)

Unlike the ridiculous system in skyrim, you can't enhance this skill temporarily to increase the quality of what you enchant. You will simply be limited by the size of your crystals (if it will use crystals) and the tier of spells you've got.

This  means that if you want to mix combat and magic, int users can conjure good equipment out of thin air whenever they need it as long as they don't have an anti-magic collar, and will users can enchant standard gear to make it on-par to conjured gear in strength.

Conjured armor will give the magic bonuses of the previously worn items (like say robes that gave bonus mana).

Armor enchanted for mage use is extremely rare in the world, but enchanters can simply enchant non-enchanted gear to suit them. For non-enchanters i'd of course have to leave an alternative to turn to an NPC enchanter to help you out, however that would probably not be cheap to make the enchanting magic tree worth pursuing for the player.

Maybe i'll include another use for the crystals. I may include a rare, special type of crystal that can permanently bind conjured objects to the world, so if you'd embed it in your conjured sword your conjured sword would become a permanent item.

oh i think i found out a way to play all my un-played steam games!

I should dedicate one day of every week to play a game i haven't before. Sunday is good i think. That way i can play all these games i haven't played. I pick a game on a sunday and play it, preferably to finish (if not i should finish it during that week IF i want to) if i don't enjoy a game i can drop it in an hour or so and pick up another instead. Then once i stop playing said game, i pick out which game next on my list i should play next week out of the games i just can't seem to play. Sounds good right?

Oh great, fire magic named, "magic" magic is the last one. I guess i'll do that tomorrow.
