The Plague Rat Inn

Today was dedicated to concept work. I got this crazy idea last night since i'm learning so much and taking so much inspiration from Emilie Autumn's book to include an easter egg & a tribute to her in the main project, an inn in Necembel named the Plague Rat Inn. Since i'm working a lot on locations right now i created it and some of the characters in it (i need to finish the book before i can finish the characters)

This actually helped me, my races all need to have different themes, in names and stuff. Faeries got a norse theme, humans get a mix of american and british themes (royalty is british, common rabble is american like) so i decided, that Fel'du will get asian (more specifically Japanese) theme, it fits them perfectly in my head, and the character that inspired this idea is a girl named "Sachiko" who will be an undead Fel'du.

I think this inn is going to be super cool, it's going to be the home of a secret organization (plague rats) that fights against slavery, as such there will be many quests there to fight against slavery. It's basically a small (but elite) anti-slave faction. Seeing the adult themes of the game (in NSFW mode) and that the characters are inspired by the imagination of another artist, one of which even being her alter ego, i can't help but think it'd be wrong if the player can force them to do "things" they don't want to do, i thought of a pretty basic solution for that, there simply wont be any NSFW content for them (i'll ask the original author of the original versions of the characters for permission if i wish to include anything of the sort, for example relationships between the characters themselves) and to make sure thep player doesn't end up where he should get NSFW content with them (like he can with most other characters in the game, sipmly with the press of a button) the characters would be leveled so that they are always more powerful than the player and couldn't lose to the player if they tried in combat. Needless to say, if you'd attack them in their own inn you'd die pretty fast since the rest of the regular attendants of the inn would join in and pulverize you.

Personally i'm really really loving this idea, i think it'll add a lot to the game to have this inn and it's side quests. The characters of course won't be the original characters from Emilie's book, just a different version of them created to fit in to the world of Amodos.

From a legal perspective... might not be the best idea ever, but i will of course ask for permission from Emilie Autumn & or her manager or whatever, and if they absolutely refuse too allow me to include this content in my game, all i'd have to do would be to rename the characters and place the heart on Emily's right cheek somewhere else. When i get that far in development, if Emilie will approve of this, i'll probably also ask her to compose an instrumental BGM track or two for the inn to play in the background when the player is in the Plague Rat Inn (or possibly find another instrumental track from her and just get to use that).

Easter eggs can really add to media, have you seen all the Guren Lagann references in Wakfu?! This probably wont be the only easter egg i'll have, there will probably be tons more spread throughout amodos (Dir En Grey, Wakfu, Sun-Ken Rock, World of Darkness... yeah i have plenty of other things i can make easter eggs out of) but the Plague Rat Inn will probably be the biggest easter egg, at least if you consider all the quests involved (1 for Emily, 1 for Joulie, several for Anne, and these are just the confirmed ones. Anne will be a rather generic quest giver though.)

Apart from that quest and porting some of the Wikia content over to Articy, i'm still learning how to fully utilize articy, which is fine! (i have time...) one thing that has been in queue for a while now that i started working on today was updating the wikia, remove obsolete stuff and add some extra info in.

Thats it for today. It's good to have the wiki fix behind me, that's really been at the back of my head for quite some time now, now i can more calmly focus all my attention on Articy.

Oh yeah and i renamed Zanth to Zinth.

Notice the trend that the second letter is always "A" except for in Quiline? another less problematic trend is that each name has at least one "N" in it.

I can live with there being "N" in all their names. Can't you?
